Diversity and equality

Crime can intrude into anyone's life: we're here to help whoever you are

Diversity matters and we value it

Crime can affect anyone, whatever their age, gender, race, faith, sexual orientation, disability or gender identity. We’re committed to help everyone we can, without discrimination. We also think the world is a better place thanks to the diversity of our communities and that’s why we think diversity is so important to our charity and its work.

That’s why we have policies in place to make sure we attract the best staff and volunteers from all communities. We also chose ‘diversity’ as one of our charity’s values to make sure it’s part of all we do. And we are very proud to have made it into Stonewall's top 100 lesbian, gay and bisexual-friendly employer's list for the very first time in 2010.

If you want to find out more about our approach to equality and diversity, you can read our Equality and diversity policy(173 KB) and our Equality and diversity scheme(250 KB).

From the community: for the community

Victim Support is a community-based organisation – when our volunteers go out to help victims and witnesses, that’s the community in action trying to heal the harm caused by crime. We have staff and volunteers from every walk of life and from every community. This helps us reach out to people in need, whatever their circumstances. We always need more volunteers, particularly from groups who are less well represented. Why not help us build an even more diverse organisation and volunteer to help.
