A lot of people don't realise that Victim Support is a charity - perhaps because they hear from us after talking to the police so they think we're an integral part of the government's criminal justice system. But we're actually an independent charity like any other, and we depend on people's support to help us do our work.

Every year we give free emotional support, information and practical help to around 1.5 million people who have been affected by crime. You can find out more about how we help here.
But we can only continue to offer this free service to victims and witnesses in need with your help, and the support of grantmaking trusts and companies.
