The National Office supports Victim Support as a national association.
One of its main jobs is to manage the funding from the Home Office and to make grants to local Victim Support charities to pay for staff, offices and other costs. The National Office also supports local branches of Victim Support and the Witness Service, provides training and information, develops national policies, distributes good practice materials, and fundraises for new initiatives. It is also the base from which Victim Support campaigns for social and legislative change in victims' and witnesses' rights, and liaises with the national media.
The National Office of Victim Support has around 120 staff, mainly at its office in South London. The Victim Supportline and the 12 London Crown Court Witness Services are also managed from the National Office.
