The national association

For most of its history, Victim Support has been a federation of charities working together. The national association has acted as the umbrella organisation for Victim Support in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It has developed policies for Victim Support's own services and for the treatment of victims and witnesses generally.

However, as a result of a decision taken at an extraordinary general meeting in June 2007, the charities that make up the federation will be merging during the first six months of 2008 to create a new, single, national charity. These changes will be complete by June 2008 but will not affect services for victims and witnesses. Check our website regularly for updates on the changes taking place at Victim Support.
