Road death service

Each year in Dyfed as many as 30 people die on the roads. The sudden death of a loved one leaves family members and close friends in shock, at a time when important decisions have to be made.

Victim Support is working with Dyfed-Powys Police to provide a support service to people who suffer bereavement from a fatal road collision.

Our trained volunteers can offer emotional support, and can help by explaining police procedures and questions like 'what is a post-mortem' and 'what happens at the Coroner's court'. And we can offer to accompany the bereaved person to the inquest.

Few people are likely to go through anything as emotionally or physically draining as losing a loved one suddenly. The road death service aims to provide help at a crucial time. The service if free and is available to family members and to close friends. We respect the wishes of the bereaved person, including their confidentiality.
